Do you aspire to positively impact the overall health and physical performance of others? Our graduate degree in Health and Human Performance emphasizes a comprehensive understanding of the causal link between disease and physical activity and lifestyle behaviors that can impact health. This Master’s program includes two concentrations: 1) Health and Fitness Promotion and 2) Coaching and Fitness Leadership. Through completion of six common core course requirements, students will gain a robust foundation in research, statistics, nutrition, psychology, exercise physiology, health and fitness testing, and program design.
This program will equip candidates to mentor and lead others in preventive and reparative health and fitness strategies, and will prepare candidates to:
- Analyze the role of lifestyle behaviors, such as physical activity, that can affect general health and chronic disease
- Implement health and fitness assessment, intervention, and planning appropriate to diverse populations
- Select and adapt ethical and effective leadership strategies in physical activity from fitness to competitive sport levels
- Communicate with and educate participants on behavior changes, assessment procedures and results, and program implementation
