Ready to amplify your experience and expertise as an educator? University of the Cumberlands’ Rank 1 program offers a path for licensed Kentucky educators to achieve a rank change and pursue career advancement in the education field. Courses are available throughout the year in six 8-week terms, allowing you to complete a rank change in less than a year.

You may complete the online teacher certification program while obtaining additional certification in special education or in a school leadership role: School Principal, Director of Special Education, Supervisor of Instruction, Director of Pupil Personnel or School Superintendent.

A Kentucky teaching certificate is provided for the state of Kentucky through the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB). Out-of-state candidates will want to contact their state’s certification office for reciprocity details.

You can earn certification in these areas:

• Elementary Education (P-5)
• Middle School Education (5-9)
• Secondary Education (8-12)
• Special Education – Learning and Behavior Disorders (P-12)
